The Artist

I have started singing when I was about 14 years old. I remember how there was that girl who had the same bus route like me after school and one day she invited me to her place and I was deeply impressed when listening to her singing and playing.

This is how I developed a deep desire to learn to play the guitar and I saved my pocket money to get an instrument and started teaching myself to read music and play cords. At some stage I also took classes in classical guitar, and already speaking French I began singing George Brassens, Jacque Brel and other French chansons.

In 1988, at the age of 23, I for the first time visited India and started to become familiarized with Indian devotional songs, called Bhajans or Kirtans. They are mainly sung in Sanskrit and I straight away had an inner connection and deep love for that type of music which followed me throughout my life since then.

My main focus from 1988 onwards became the Art of Living www.artofliving.org . I conducted their programs which took me all around the world. Especially in Russia I connected deeply with the music and a large number of Russian folk songs got added to my repertoire.

The praise and support of people listening to my singing always filled me with gratitude and encouraged me to take the next step of publishing a CD. I believe that other recordings will follow as I've got a large number of songs already written.

I hope you enjoy this first CD 'All about You' and very much welcome any comments and suggestions.

I'd also like to give special thanks to all of you who shared your love and support all these years with me - and I'd like to acknowledge Buranjali and Fiona Marshall for convincing (not to say pushing) me to finally record this CD.

'Hope to meet all of you, who read this in person, one day.
